I don't know if you guys have ever heard of this but it is so not fun. :) Basically, candida is yeast and if you have too much in your body it causes health problems. Such as: Sinus infections, Migraines, Tooth aches(?) recurrent ear infections, fatigue, etc. etc. Basically it causes TONS of problems. I have had a REALLY bad sinus infection since before our trip to Ethiopia and I have been sick constantly. We found out the reason yesterday and I have to go on a candida cleanse diet which should clear up everything I have. So for two weeks I can only eat organic stuff such as: wild rice, beans, some meats, vegetables and some fruits and a few other things along with a yeast cleanse supplement and some other vitamin things. You can not have ANYTHING that has sugar in it (and no milk either). It is supposed to 'starve' the yeast of everything and it will go away taking my painful sinus problems with it. I am very excited about that but not the eating part :) It is worth it though for the end result!! Several people in my family have done this and it REALLY helped. Here is my lunch for today, plain cucumbers. I LOVE cucumbers though so I was so glad when I found out I am allowed to eat these :) (Ok, the bowl was full when I started eating. lol) (I could've had more for lunch just so you know but i just chose to eat this instead. just to clarify that I am not being starved over here. :)

I know what you are going through, Ellie. I had Candida before getting married and the diet was just awful. I actually was on it for 4 months and couldn't even eat fruit (because it's a natural sugar). It was worth it, because my energy level went way up once it was under control. Once you are done, you may want to take a probiotic daily (I do) to help balance your healthy gut flora.
aww...poor ellie :-)
My poor Ellie! I am so sorry to read you are a genetic recipient of that nasty problem. I do hope you have success in the diet and in reaching that goal of feeling better. Thinking of you and sending my love. Aunt Cyndee
Okay, I can totally relate to you, Ellie!
I had systemic yeast last year and I had to go on a six week diet. I couldn't eat ANYTHING!!!!!
During the first two weeks I lost 20lbs. sending me to a frightening low of 102lbs.!!!
But don't worry---it does get better!! Keep the faith girl!! I will be praying for, I know exactly what you are going through.
Something I enjoyed (If you are allowed to eat this) was organic Almond butter with celery. It might not sound that good, but after 3 weeks I was ready to eat just about anything that wasn't green!!!!
Hope you're feeling better soon!
