Day 3...

Well, today we got to back to the GFC house for a coffee ceremony which I chose not to partake of. I instead ran upstairs to play with all the babies!! These are seriously THE cutest babies in the entire world :) (I think that was my favorite part of the WHOLE trip :) We were probably there about three hours but it did not seem long enough. We got to meet the twinettes wonderful caregiver Misrak Misrak and Workanesh ( their other caregiver) This is the part where you cry... The most emotional part besides the meeting with their birthmother was meeting with their caregiver. She has taken care of them since they were 3 months old and she might not ever see 'her babies' again. Next we were off to our embassy appointment! It was so fast! I felt bad for the people in front of us going into the embassy because they had just finished their appt. and were going back to get their ipods and camera. ( You can't bring electronics in there.) Well, the guy at the desk couldn't find them!! The lady was getting pretty upset and finally she saw it up in one of the little locker things WAY in the back. So, it is better not even to bring anything electronic in there if you want to see it again! After that, we went out to lunch at 'The Zebra Grill'... this retaraunt was really cool looking inside and out....a bit of advice though, don't order fish! Then we were off to Kaldi! ( Starbucks) We were all gonna get ice cream because it was like superly hot. I went up to the counter to order and the girl didn't speak English very well and I didn't speak Amharic very well so I don't really know what she thought. I thought I ordered coffee flavored ice cream but instead she brought me this cappuccino thing that was SO good. A pretty nice misunderstanding. Next we went to Kebebe Tsehay ( my second favorite part of the trip) and we got to give out lollypops to all the kids! (I wish I could post pictures of them but considering they are orphans I don't want to upset the ET govt. escpecially since we are hoping to be able to adopt a girl that we met at Kebebe Tsehay! We only have 2 and a half months to go out of our 6 month wait and then we can start our paperwork again! Please pray that this works out.) We then came back to our hotel and ordered room service for dinner.

Kerennie- Roo :)

First off, How to pronounce her name: 'KER' (like 'her'), 'ENN' (like the letter N) KER-ENN, many people think it is something like Karen but it is more like Corrinne...but spelled like Keren. Now that thats all settled :) VOILA! The princess herself... Keren and Mama! precious chunkette Eating some mashed potatoes...yum! (Eating is Keren's favorite thing to do!) They have a million and ten toys of their own but they would still rather play with their brothers stuff :) Keren is the silliest little 'geel'( the boys way of saying girl) ever. She is hilarious and constantly on the go. That is why it so hard to get a picture of her! She does 'So big' (and even says it as she raises her hands "DO-DIH!") she claps, sings, plays peekaboo (kerennie-roo :) and when someone leaves she waves and says "dye dye" :) She is a trouble maker and so silly! She is very content to sit and play where Kez would rather be held. We LOVE Keren! Josiah post and day 3 coming soon!

Baby Zee ( Keziah)

Just bein' cute! Look who's standin' up! The singer... and the cutest accidental picture ever. Keziah is THE sweetest little girl you have ever met. She is the smaller and older twin. She is VERY stranger shy and does not like new people, especially men. She will SCREAM if someone new tries to pick her up. She will warm up in a few minutes though. She is my baby and I think it is safe to say that I am her favorite :) She calls me nih-nih for some reason :) She waves at people constantly. When we go in their room at night to change their diapers Kez will be half asleep and sit up and wave! She is so precious. She is going to be walking VERY soon! She crawls super fast and is pulling up on everything, she has even gotten brave and will hold on to the couch with just one hand! They will be a year old next month :( I can't believe we have known about them for 6 months already! We LOVE Keziah!

Awesome Sarah Groves Video

I know, I posted this a couple of months ago but I can relate to it WAY more now that I have seen what I have seen. It brings me to tears when I remember the faces of the beggars and orphans or the babies laying on their sleeping mothers on the side of the road while I listen to this song. I want to go 'home' so bad!! Ethiopia truly seems like home to me and I am counting down the days until I can move there (or visit :). I think it is a great reminder to be grateful for what we have and not to forget what many of us have seen. We need to tell the world that hasn't seen what really goes on in the world!! I should like watch it everyday when I wake up as a part of my devotions or something :) It will change the outlook on our whole day.
